A focused English-language practice
Pinewell was established in Edmonton in 2016 to review English customer information and working documents. The early work centred on wording that had to be accurate, understandable and consistent across a set of materials.
The practice later added generalist response evaluation, using the same foundation: a clear brief, traceable reasoning and a defined route for uncertain cases.
Development of the practice
- 2016
English copy review and document-consistency work form the initial service.
- 2019
Help-content and knowledge-base review become regular project types.
- 2022
Remote review projects adopt shared calibration examples and written decision records.
- 2024
Generalist AI response evaluation is added alongside editorial review.
- 2026
Project delivery continues through scoped review assignments with quality-lead feedback.
Project teams
Content Review Assistants compare responses, check permitted sources and write rating explanations. Work is reviewed against the client rubric; feedback may lead to a revised explanation or a corrected decision.
A project lead maintains the guide and resolves questions that cannot be answered from existing instructions. Review teams are organised around the task, rather than a claim of expertise in every subject.
Our working standard
A reviewer should be able to explain the decision without inventing certainty. If the evidence is incomplete or the instruction is ambiguous, that limitation belongs in the record.
We favour direct comments and short explanations that another reviewer can inspect. A polished sentence is only useful if it says what the review actually found.
